The concept of “embodiment” has become a buzzword in popular culture with images of yoga poses, bubble baths, massages, and crystals flooding social media.
And while those are all wonderful expressions of embodiment, the full power and experience of embodiment is much more simple and much more profound.
So what is embodiment, really?
What does embodiment look like when you’re navigating the pressures of daily life?
What does embodiment look like when you experience chronic stress and pain?
What does embodiment have to do with reaching your goals?
What does it mean to live an embodied life?
Embodiment is the lived experience of a quality, energy, value, or emotion.
Embodiment is not toxic positivity, spiritual bypass, putting glitter on shit, or turning everything into sunshine and rainbows.
It’s not about what you do, it’s the energy from which you do.
You can embody kindness. You can embody love. You can embody scarcity. You can embody fear.
You can embody hope.
And the truth… the hard truth… is that you are always embodying something whether you are conscious of it or not! That energy has a direct impact on how you feel, your thoughts, your actions, and how you show up in the world.
So if you want to change your life, it starts with embodiment.
Why embodiment? Why now? Why here?
We’re living in a time where people feel more disconnected than ever. We’re disconnected from the planet. We’re disconnected from each other. And, from an early age, we are taught to disconnect from ourselves.
Embodiment provides the path to connect to and live from your wholeness and sharing your unique brilliance with the world.
While a part of you intuitively knows and feels a sense of peace in that way of operating, we live in a culture that has taught you to experience life from the top down. The challenge of embodiment is that it requires you to literally flip everything on it’s head and experience life from the body outward.
This is BodyMind Living.
BodyMind living is a state of living from your embodiment. It’s about doing the inner work to break down the habits, patterns, and beliefs that are separating you from your wholeness so that you can do the outer work to break down systems & structures that separate us from our humanity.
This journey is not for the faint of heart.
This work will challenge you out of your comfort zone. It will require difficult conversations. It will force you to be present with yourself in ways you’ve never experienced. And it is worth it.
Recently, I have been craving a space to bring awareness to the practical aspects of embodiment in life, leadership, and business. A place where we can get curious, ask hard questions, and be present to the messiness of embracing our full authentic self.
